Shantel Jackson: Boss Moves, Vintage Chanel, and Shoe Gummi in NYC

In a recent vlog, Shantel Jackson known to most as @missjackson brought the heat to New York. Before stepping onto her panel at the Out of Office Connected Summit, Shantel gave us pure vintage 1950s intellectual pinup girl energy at Linkedin HQ, in a full Chanel ensemble—featuring iconic Chanel Stretch Lambskin Patent Cap Toe Pearl Ball Mid Calf Boots.

Cool seeing her step out of her comfort zone while staying in her element: chic, polished, and about her business!

For the panel discussion, she paired a vegan Naked Wardrobe Double Breasted Cropped Trench Jacket with Givenchy Boudoir Heeled Mules to advocate for her revolutionary brand, Shoe Gummi.

• Red Gummi: The red outer-sole pads are an absolute game changer for high heels—specifically red bottoms! I didn't get to wear my JW PEI Green Hannah Snakeskin Mule Heels or Lillian Weave Leather Mules to Essence Fest this year, but I’m grabbing Shoe Gummi's before their next outing!

During her trip, Shantel took time for a Bossip interview and highlighted some fabulous NYC dining spots in another pair of Givenchy Boudoir Heeled Mules with Fringe! 

Side note: Shantel wore the black, but I love the red!

The stunning restaurants featured in her video with dramatic chandeliers and lush greenery are the RH New York Rooftop Restaurant (Restoration Hardware) in the Meatpacking District and The Terrace and Outdoor Gardens in Times Square!

NYC Club Culture, Goyard Bags & Caresha’s Red Cup Vibes

Over on the Let's Rap About It Podcast, Caresha (aka Yung Miami) sat down fresh off her Hot 97 Summer Jam ’26 performance. The discussion touched on everything from NYC vs. Miami club culture to ladies' club shoe etiquette (apparently kitten heels are not approved!). Caresha brought along her signature Caresha Please 'Resha Roulette' Card Game and [Caresha Please Disposable Red Cup Typa Nite Red Cups] to set the mood.

NYC energy stay on 10 —during the podcast, Dave East promo'd his exclusive pop-up at Nordstrom NYC (235 W 57th St) on August 15, 2026, dropping his Don Pablo x Willie Esco Streetwear Collection. The kicks would look dope paired with Jim Jones’ Coogi Los Angeles Light Weight Sweater Knit Tee and Shorts fit.

Goyard bags filling the room—which Mr. Goyard Bag himself, Fabolous, had to appreciate. There were some subtle sparks flying across the room, between him and Caresha. Ever since Fabolous collaborated with Lowkey Mar on "Win That Chip", remixing Yung Miami’s "Spend Dat" to celebrate the New York Knicks Championship (now win 🏆), they got the streets talking! 

As a proud New Yorker, seeing the Knicks take the championship home makes it even sweeter.

Monroe Steele’s Escondido Resort Trip: Black Designers & Fashion Serves

It’s been a minute since I showed love to the fashion vlog girlies, but Monroe Steele is capturing the style in my heart. Celebrating life over 40 while serving international destinations and detailed style breakdowns, Monroe exemplifies living lavish and intentionally.

I first came across her Barbados vlog. Being that my father's family immigrated from the small island, I'm always proud when people show love to Bajans. 

Monroe's latest vlog documented an unforgettable girls' trip to Puerto Escondido, Mexico bringing together Black women fashion creators for sisterhood, relaxation, shopping, and high fashion.

During their resort-wear showcase, the ladies championed Black-owned luxury and independent designers. I placed my 3 favorite looks in order below:

1. Chee’s Showstopper Look: Chee wore a grown and sexy Nia Thomas Red Resort Raffia Fringe Skirt with a matching halter top.

2. The Yusufs' Vintage Mesh Look: Styled in a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier sheer cover-up paired with a red bikini and rare [H&M x Stella McCartney Red Mesh Tote Bag].

3. Jenee’s Zebra Serve: Jenee Naylor stole the spot for third favorite from Carolyn, with this zebra print moment.

(Fun Fact: I bumped into Jenee shopping at Zara in Arlington, VA a few months back and got to say hello! I mentioned that I previously featured her Janelle James interview on my blog—I bet she was packing for this trip!)
