We posted his mixtape Since You Playin' a while back and still listen to it now.
We were supposed to cover this February edition of Who's Next, however, because of a last minute change in schedule we couldn't make it.
Fortunately, HOT 97 was gracious enought to share footage of the event with us.
Read the event recap below and connect with artists including; Elijah The Boy, PM, Jay Watts, Matt Patterson, Marvin Dolo and Finnesse.

NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 28, 2018 - HOT 97’s Who’s Next showcase was packed to the gills at legendary night club SOB’s on Monday
night. Jacquees, PM, Jay Watts, Finesse and more brought out their
absolute best at the monthly showcase. TT Torrez’s industry soiree, now
officially a co-joint effort with Tune Core, is quickly becoming the
event that labels, brands and industry executives want to be a part of.
Event Recap
Lady lyricist Finesse was all about the Bronx boogie for her debut performance on the famed stage. Finesse was the lucky Who’s Next winner
to be handpicked by fans to showcase her spoken swagger. Dressed in NYC
street chic complete with aviator glasses, she delivered soon-to-be
club hits with much aggression. Hooks like “Bitch You Know I’m Savage”
belting from her pink pout had the crowd hanging on to her every word.
Conversely, she held the crowd’s attention with pop worthy tracks that
can potentially put her on the Nicki Minaj trajectory to hip-hop/pop
stardom.
Marvin Dolo’s
set blessed the stage with potency. His one-man show of high-energy
delivery set the tone for the artists that came on after him. Artist PM was
responsible for getting everyone jumping in place. He was the third act
of the night and his alternative universe vibes had the crowd open to
the energy emitted. The die-hard Who’s Next fans that frequent the showcase embraced the genre-bending style of his music yet were elated to hear NYC’s own Elijah The Boy deliver his expressive vernacular over bass heavy beats.
Matt Patterson of
Far Rockaway Queens delivered his smooth R&B voice over
sugar-coated pop beats. Reminiscent of a young Robin Thicke, the tall
Irish artist has a new project titled “Better” in the works under the
label Triangle Offence. His recent collaboration with Dave East “Never
Been” illustrates that the blue-eyed pretty boy from Queens can also
deliver over moody melodramatic beats.
Jay Watts’ mélange of R+B, hip hop, pop, funk and country carried good vibes only at last night’s Who’s Next event
on tracks like “Dead Presidents”, “Platinum” and “Single Friends”.
Jay’s “no genre” take on musical artistry was matched only by his Brian
Wood inspired outfit. Not donning his standard colorful fedora, his
vibrant afro-punky sounds kept the crowd vivaciously bopping to the beat
of his drum. Jay Watts is not to be compared to any other artist,
however his energy does remind me of Blood Orange- all raw and
unorthodox.
Jacquees, fresh off dropping the sultry single “Everything” with Snoop Dogg on Snoop’s recent album, delivered his velvety vocals at Who’s Next last
night. His sexy delivery was half R. Kelly before the fall, half thug
and all sassy in-between. Jacquees’ had the ladies swaying and the guys
bumping to hits like “At The Club” which was performance perfection.
